Paris D. Lariani is a cultural anthropologist, psychologist, and parapsychologist, certified since 2017, with over seven years of professional experience in spiritual studies, consciousness research, and psychological sciences. She holds a Master’s degree in Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences from the University of California, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Parapsychology from the University of Virginia’s specialized program. She has also completed advanced studies in Transpersonal Psychology, Neuropsychology, and Consciousness Research.
Her research, conducted between 2015 and 2022, has explored consciousness studies, extrasensory perception (ESP), neurocognitive responses to spiritual phenomena, and the psychological and cultural effects of mystical experiences. As a cultural anthropologist, she has led ethnographic fieldwork on indigenous healing traditions, examining shamanic practices, Vodun rituals, and energy healing methods across diverse cultures.
Paris has contributed to academic publications and has been a speaker at international symposiums on parapsychology, neurotheology, and cultural healing traditions. Her work integrates scientific methodologies with spiritual exploration, providing a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to psychological and metaphysical inquiry.
Paris began her study into shamanic healing in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. Over a period of six months, she studied with Don Pedro, a renowned Shipibo shaman, learning about ayahuasca and other sacred plant medicines used in spiritual healing rituals. Don Pedro guided her through profound spiritual ceremonies that focused on connecting with the spirit world and healing emotional and physical ailments.
During this time, Paris also worked with Maestra Rosa, a healer from the Asháninka tribe, who taught her about the energy field and how to use plants for spiritual purification. These experiences solidified her foundation in energy work and taught her the significance of rituals and plant-based healing for restoring balance.
Vodun Healing in Ouidah, Benin, West Africa
Paris traveled to Ouidah, Benin, where she studied Vodun healing with Mama Abiola, a respected Vodun priestess and healer. Over four months, Mama Abiola taught her the sacred rites and ritual cleansing techniques used to communicate with ancestors and heal the spirit. Paris learned how Vodun rituals such as spiritual baths, sacrificial offerings, and spirit channeling are utilized for energetic clearing and healing.
Paris also studied with Chief Yao Koffi, a Vodun spiritual leader, for an additional four months, learning traditional practices of ancestral communication and energetic protection. Under Chief Koffi’s mentorship, Paris gained profound insights into the role of ancestral guidance in healing the mind, body, and spirit.
2014 – 2015: Curanderismo and Healing in Oaxaca, Mexico
2014: Paris spent six months in Oaxaca, Mexico, where she trained with Don Juan, a master curandero, who taught her about herbal remedies, limpias (spiritual cleansings), and how to use energy healing to restore balance to the body and spirit. Don Juan emphasized the importance of sacred plants, such as copal incense and sage, in cleansing negative energy and emotional blockages.
During this time, Paris also worked closely with Doña Maria, a well-known curandera who guided her through ceremonial healing practices to help people recover from emotional trauma and spiritual imbalances. Doña Maria taught Paris the significance of using traditional ceremonies, such as the egg limpia, to heal the soul and body from negative energy.
